Sugar

A donation was made in memory of Sugar by Drs. Kathryn, Gary, and Edward Haigh at Haigh Veterinary Hospital on Aug 24, 2026.

Sugar rescued me. The Creator helped her find her way.

Sebastian, her 14-year-old bonded brother, and I are lost without her.

She always had eyes on me as I learned to dance around her, standing close to my legs. Her bark could wake Rip Van Winkle and hold back anyone at any time, trying to enter our house and yard. Sugar was a force to be reckoned with to those visiting without an invitation. She kept us safe and made me feel secure.

Sugar was the fastest runner, and an open field called to her. She moved and grooved around anything in her way. She ran as if she was lightning hitting the ground, always making her way back to me.

Her tummy was as soft as a ripe peach. I could wrap myself up around her, and she wanted more. All 66lbs of her seemed to end up on my shoulder or snuggled next to me. My grandson could put his feet and legs anywhere on her body, and she knew he belonged there, on her.

Sugar never met a food item that she didn't love. The beagle in her meant countertops and plates with crumbs were open territory if I did not pay attention. Her awesome nose was relentless in sniffing out and finding new snacks. She loved to eat and taste it all.

We miss her dearly. The energy at home has changed. Her love will stay with me always.
