In Loving Memory of Starsky
September 10, 2010 to September 2, 2026
Starsky was my childhood best friend, my soul dog, and my little shadow for nearly 16 beautiful years. I was just seven years old when she came into my life, and from that moment on, we were inseparable.
She was a tiny dachshund with the biggest personality. She was sassy, stubborn, incredibly bossy, and full of love. As a little girl, I carried her everywhere, dressed her up, and even made sure we had matching Halloween costumes. As we grew older, not much changed. She had her own car seat, accompanied me on countless adventures, and absolutely LOVED going for car rides. Every night, she slept right on top of me, and every day, she made sure I knew just how much she loved me. Starsky adored children and her family, but she certainly wasn't afraid to let everyone know who was in charge. As she got older, she became a little grouchy, which only added to her charm. She was truly a little old lady with an attitude! Five years before she passed, we were told her time might be coming to an end. But in true Starsky fashion, she was far too stubborn to let anyone tell her when she was done. With daily medications, an inhaler, and chiropractic visits every four weeks, she continued running, playing, and enjoying life until the very end.
Starsky wasn't just a dog who grew old beside me. She was a little girl who grew up with me, too. She was there for every version of myself, from childhood to adulthood, and loved me through it all. She may have been little, but she lived a big, beautiful life. I will forever be grateful that I got to be her person, because she will always be my girl.
