Where to begin. Louie was a surprise from the start — the biggest puppy by weight the day I picked him up — and he grew into one of the best dogs I’ve ever owned. He got along with everyone and everything, wagging that Labrador tail everywhere he went.
He had been through a lot in his 8 short years of life. From being bitten by a rattlesnake at seven months old, to battling cancer last year. He was a champ through the radiation treatment, soaking up all the love from his vet students at WSU.
We thought the cancer was gone, but in June he went back to WSU and it was discovered not all the cancer was gone. He managed for a while with pain meds, but those last couple of weeks became too much for him.
He got all the love and good-boy affirmations I could give as I said goodbye. Miss you, Lou Lou. ❤️
