  Topsy

She was my mom's little puppy, even though she brought her home for my brother and I when we were just five years old. This little dog was with us for 15 years, growing up as my brother and I did, surviving against all odds (including eating a whole brick of cheese on accident or being bounced on the trampoline until she landed on her tummy only because her paws couldn't get a grip on it to stay upright), but her favorite spot was always in Mom's chair with her.

Topsy
I swear, that dog had a sixth sense where Mom was concerned, she would sit at the window and watch our driveway for exactly ten minutes before Mom got home, every single day, without fail. Funny part is, Mom was never home at the same time every night. But Topsy always knew.
