In Memory of Our Beloved...

Sam was rescued from a kill shelter on my birthday, just over 5 years ago. When I met the rescuer to explore the possibility of adopting him, Sam, overweight and mostly blind, stole my heart away with a delicate kiss to my nose. Sam always enjoyed life in spite of his many infirmities. Even in his final days, he would bound out of bed in the morning, eager to start a new day. His happy, easy-going attitude carried him through the hard days and became an inspiration to me. Five years together was just too short a time, my sweets, but I cherish every day of it.
