In Memory of Our Beloved...


This is a favorite photo of Kismet as a kitten. She never outgrew her strange relationship with umbrellas - she would attack them open or closed. Really, she never outgrew her kittenish energy, even at 10 when she got sick. I named her Kismet (fated to be) because she magically appeared when I was ready for a new cat (she had been abandoned, and a neighbor's dog found her hiding under a bush). She was a snuggler and even my curmudgeonly father called her "the friendliest cat we ever had." She was so satisfying in so many ways and my heart is broken.
