Veterinarians are faced with legal and ethical dilemmas regarding abuse and neglect of animals. There is not always a protool in place or legal knowledge to comfortably know how to proceed. Veterinarians need education on the legal considerations regarding animal abuse and neglect.

Learning Objective:
We will use a case study to illustrate the legal requirements of veterinarians when faced with possible cases of animal abuse or neglect.
