Course Description:
This 50-minute course aimed at veterinarians and veterinary technicians explores dilated cardiomyopathy and alternative causes of systolic dysfunction in dogs. We will review primary/inherited dilated cardiomyopathy as a model for the disease process. Additionally, we will discuss how different diseases can result in systolic dysfunction along with the relevant diagnostics. We will also review the most recent evidence-based recommendations on treatment.

Biography:
- Dr. Audrey Restle originally hails from Cincinnati, Ohio and completed her doctorate in veterinary medicine at Auburn University in Alabama. Following completion of her DVM, she entered a small animal rotating internship at Mississippi State University. She joined the WSU Cardiology team in July 2020 and has a special interest in dilated cardiomyopathy and feline heart disease.
